Winter Warmth Fund runs out fast this year

Many families had difficulty paying their gas bills this winter. The Winter Warmth Fund was a limited fund set up by Enbridge Gas and United Way to provide financial assistance to low-income families, individuals and seniors, struggling to pay their gas arrears and avoid disconnection. After a successful application process, the grant amount was credited directly to the applicant's Enbridge account.

According to Beth Early-Rea, community information co-ordinator with Caledon Community Services; "the Winter Warmth Fund helped 104 Peel and Dufferin households stay warm this winter. Many of the families were facing sudden job loss, serious illness or family breakdown."

If you need help, and do not know where to turn, call Caledon Community Services 905-951-2300 or 905-5849460 or to find information on hundreds of community, health, government and social service agencies, visit the Peel Community Information database, http://peel.cioc.ca.
